Locked myself out of the office on a Sunday morning at Sierra Point. They picked up, were straightforward about timing, and got me back in without damaging the door. Will keep them on speed dial.
Picked a smart lock and not sure which one? Already bought one and need it installed right? We spec, install, pair, and walk you through setup for the major brands — and we'll only recommend one when it actually fits your door, your ecosystem, and your life.
Most smart locks come close to plug-and-play these days, but "close" doesn't cut it when it's your front door. We've installed enough of them — and pulled out enough bad ones — to know which lock fits which door, which app actually works in the long run, and which Wi-Fi quirks to plan for.
Solid build, dependable Bluetooth, and an optional Wi-Fi module. Works well with Yale's own ecosystem and integrates with most smart-home hubs. A favorite for short-term rental hosts who want code-rotation without a hub.
Retrofit-only — it sits on top of your existing deadbolt. The cleanest option if you don't want to replace your hardware or your interior look. Best with Apple HomeKit; works fine with Alexa and Google too.
Built-in Wi-Fi, no hub needed. A standard pick for owner-occupied homes. Solid build quality. We install more of these than any other lock for single-family homes.
Wi-Fi and a fair price point. Reasonable build quality, simple multi-user codes. Slightly less polished app than the Yale or Schlage but does the job.
Retrofit (August): keeps your existing deadbolt and key — you still have a regular key as backup, just adds smart control. Full deadbolt (Yale, Schlage, Kwikset): replaces your entire lock with a smart-native one. We'll measure your door, look at your existing strike and bore, and tell you which way to go.
Bluetooth-only locks (some Yale and August models) work from within ~30 feet. WiFi locks let you lock/unlock from anywhere. If you ever want remote check-in for guests, you need Wi-Fi. If not, Bluetooth is reliable, cheaper, and doesn't depend on your router.
We set up unique codes for each family member, recurring codes for cleaners, one-time codes for guests, and integration with whichever smart-home ecosystem you already use. We don't push you to switch ecosystems — if you're on HomeKit, we recommend HomeKit-compatible locks.

We had them set up a master key system across two floors of our office on the Genentech corridor. Thorough, professional, and the documentation they left us is exactly what facilities asked for.
Brand new house in Daly City. Wanted everything rekeyed and a smart lock installed on the front door. They walked me through options honestly — never pushed me into the most expensive thing.
A few seconds of calm makes a real difference. Here's what works, what doesn't, and what to expect from us the moment you call.
Damaged locks cost more to replace than the lockout itself. Step away from the door — we'll handle it.

Car lockout in a parking lot or on the street? Stay near a well-lit area. A building lobby is fine too.
